20-year-old Essex shop assistant Leanne Dobinson has been installed 2-1 favourite to win the latest TV reality show “How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria ?”.

The winner of the programme will go on to play the lead role of Maria Von Trapp in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new stage production of The Sound Of Music at the London Palladium later this year.

There are now 10 contestants left with one being eliminated each week – in the final episode the public which one of the final three will go on to win the role.

The programme is attracting around 5 million viewers so it’s no surprise to see related betting activity. The tip at this stage is for Connie – at around 6-1. She has a ‘Maria look’ and sings strongly.
