Sometimes in poker you make a play which, at first thought seems unsound. Examples might be not raising with Aces in hold’em before the flop, or calling just to make a middle-pin. I am not sure whether there is any equivalent in other sports.
It is true you may feint going left, when you intend to go right, but that isn’t quite the same thing. In poker there is often no right or wrong move. It’s whatever gets the job done - that being to win money. If you can blow away your opponent’s mind with a small unsound play, then you may be cooking with or without gas.
