Having laid the Aussies to win the Ashes series outright – and already been paid out – it is with some trepidation that we venture back with a bet in the eagerly awaited Fifth Test at The Oval.

 

England have quite rightly taken much praise for their efforts so far, but those two final little words are so important – so far. One thing is certain – the Ashes is a long way from being won – an Aussie win means a tied series but the urn heads back down under, so it will be considered a loss for England. Plenty still to play for on both sides.

 

The team news and injury woes favour Australia on balance and the toss will be crucial – the winner of the toss will almost certainly elect to bat.

 

So is there a bet ? There is - but not a large one – we want to keep the majority of our winnings intact but we think laying the draw at around 2.58 is the best punt. An unsettled weather forecast is our major worry with this bet – but this Ashes series just keeps on getting more exciting and we can see an outright winner of the final test. England to win in style – or the Aussies to scupper our chances at the 11th hour – either way we’ll get paid out if we avoid the draw.
