Earlier in the week we recommended a decent size lay on Australia winning the Ashes series on the simple basis there wasn’t much downside to the bet with them trading at around 1.19.

After Sunday’s remarkable match which saw England level the series by just two runs we now have a reasonable bet on our hands.

On the basis we also have the draw on our side our advice is to hold all bets – the Aussies remain favourites to win the series – but layers now have to trade at around 1.70 – so we’re half a point ahead.

A draw in the third match will see a further drift in Australia’s price as the overall series draw becomes more of a reality.
